In 1892 Yūhō authored a woodblock-printed picture book entitled Kōgei Shinzu (i.e., New Pictures of Industrial Arts). Consistent with its title this book included pictures of designs suitable for kimonos and other types of textiles. However, it also included a number of “fine art” pictures, many featuring flowers and (or) birds. This gallery includes nine examples of this flower-bird “fine art” (pictures 1-9) plus nine examples of Yūhō’s flower-bird “industrial art” (picture 10-18). Click on a picture to enlarge it.
